A FIREMAN First Birthday: You’re Absolutely Going To LOVE

This post contains affiliate links but all opinions are mine.

The cutest baby on the planet turned one recently and while I was spinning my head around saying “Wait! What? Wasn’t he just born last week?” my daughter’s incredible in-laws were planning a celebration for her son’s first birthday almost as cute as the kid himself.

These people seriously have a gift for throwing a party as well as the corner on creativity (especially Little Cutie’s Aunt) and I am the lucky one with the automatic invitation standing on the sidelines with my lame but diet friendly veggie trays shaking my head and wondering where/how they came up with everything. The very least I can do is share their ideas with the rest of the world so I have some company in my amazement, so here goes!

FOOD IDEAS

The food was pretty simple. Costco items and Great-Grandma’s homemade Gandule Rice and Grandma’s delicious chicken salad dressing were supplemented by a few trays of catered local faire; meat jun, lo mein, chicken katsu; some fruit and veggie trays, hot dogs for the kids, Sherbet Punch and several dozen delicious, mouth-melting, cream cheese fantasy, Red Velvet Cupcakes gifted by an especially kitchen talented friend.

TABLE DECORATIONS

Center Pieces were Fireman themed gift bags cleverly weighed down by a bag of chex-mix with simple cut-outs of fire hydrants and fire hats accented by Mickey Mouse.

At each setting were darling pocket calendars with a photo of the Birthday Boy on the front propped up on a Tootsie Roll labeled with a cute, “Stop, Drop and Tootsie Roll” message.

Full-sized Calendars starring the Birthday Boy and his Fireman Dad completed the table decorations. Since the room cleverly contained one table per attending family, these became precious gifts for each to take home. Check these out for more Table Decorating Ideas.

GOODIE BAGS

Each child in attendance received an adorable goodie bag, cleverly made with black paper cut-out boots attached to inexpensive black bags. Stickers and Tape completed the design. Inside were simple snacks, fire truck shaped crayons and a small coloring book.

But by far the best find in the goodie bag was the adorable fire hydrant straw cup!  You can find other great Fireman Theme Goodie Bag Ideas Here.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE PARTY

But the highlight of the party was the much-anticipated announcement of the sex of the Birthday Boy’s yet to be born sibling. The plan was for the “reveal” to take place as the star of the show devoured his cake.

With shirt removed in preparation for the ensuing mess, Birthday Cutie seemed less than impressed once the candle was out and after being “helped” to reveal the color of the cake for everyone to see, wanted nothing to do with it!

Maybe his brother will be more excited when it’s his turn to make a mess!

Little Cutie loved showing off his Junior Fire Fighter Suit!

All in all, it was a wonderful party and a great time had by everyone!

Hummm. Maybe it’s time to stop standing on the sidelines and plan a party of my own?

You’ll have to wait and see!!

I’d love to know what you think.  Please leave me a comment!!
